A walk with my hubby….

Posted in my life with tags on September 26, 2008 by hollybirdy

I take lots of walks in a week’s time.  Normally, I squeeze them into my day.  Sometimes I am able to go before work/errands but after I drop the kids at school, sometimes I fit it in right after a few hours of work and before I pick up my youngest from half-day preschool, sometimes I break away after our evening meal but before tuck-in time for the kids leaving daddy in charge…usually these walks are just me and my dog (a 13 year old border collie who still pulls me along like she is still the darling puppy she was more than a decade ago).

  So you see…

Rarely do I have the pleasure of a walk with my sweet husband.

Last week when we were able to accomplish just that… and we took the camera. :0)

Is it already Thursday?

How on earth did that happen so quickly?

That is about all I have to say for now.

Fun Friday, Raspberry picking with some friends

Last Saturday, we headed for the mountains again.  It was a beautiful, warm day.

Here we are berry picking…

But we also did some green bean picking….and came home with corn.  All the produce was wonderful and yummy.

This picture will help you understand why we spend 2 Saturdays in a row up there…

Love it…the boys just running here and there…the gorgeous mountians in the background.  Wow!  God has made some pretty cool places on earth.

Wonderful Wednesday, God’s gift of new teeth

“God’s going to give me a new tooth!”

My youngest has been saying this and believing it since he knocked out his front tooth at age 2.

And yes…I tell him that indeed God is working on it…he will get a new tooth from God when the time is right.  Of course, I have not shared with him that he will likely be 7 or 8 when this happens! 🙂

A lesson in God’s timing…and my youngest is waiting pretty patiently.  If only I waited so patiently for gifts from God.  If only….

And so…when I saw this cute little tooth fairy pillow idea from Family Fun…I loved it.  A new tooth straight from God!

And I think it gives me an idea for a scrapbook page embellishment.  🙂

A time to pray for our nation….

Posted in faith with tags , on September 9, 2008 by hollybirdy

I am actually kinda excited about all the campaigning and wondering how it is all going to turn out…but that makes me realize that I need to be on my knees praying for the process.

Thanks to my mom, I found out that there is a 40 days to pray the vote.  They have a daily Prayer focus during the days leading up to all the voting.

We are “One Nation under God…” and let us pray to Him that His will be done!

Fun Friday, Worship songs for kids

Posted in faith, fun friday - kids games and toys, my life with tags on September 5, 2008 by hollybirdy

This morning I was checking on one of my “favorite people” blogs.  Most people in this grouping are people I know personally…but there are a few who I have never met but still feel totally blessed by reading their blog.  One of these is Nitty Gritty.  Many of my days have been brighter after I read what Jody has left on her blog.  I was checking on her today since she is getting very close to delivering her bundle of joy! 🙂

Jody has great worship music on her blog.  I enjoy it and play it often.  I got on her blog, checked on her and her music started up.  My 4 year old came in and said it was time for us to go to work. Who am I to argue, right?  After all, I was just checking on Jody and few other things…and I was done.  So…we went to brush his teeth and comb his hair and he started belting out….

My Savior loves,

my Savior lives,

my Savior’s always there for me.

My God He was,

my God He is,

my God He’s always gonna be

Loved it!  Amen, brother! 🙂

And so for this Fun Friday kid’s idea, I will leave you with one of our favorite Kid’s Worship Albums…

I Could Sing Of Your Love Forever (Album)

It doesn’t have Aaron Shurst’s “My Savior My God” on it but it has some good ones. 🙂

Oh, and the non-chorus lyrics of “My Savior My God”….since it is a wonderful song.

I am not skilled to understand
What God has willed, what God has planned
I only know at His right hand
Stands one who is my Savior

I take Him at his word and deed
Christ died to save me, this I read
And in my heart I find a need
Of Him to be my Savior
That He would leave His place on high
And come for sinful man to die
You count it strange, so once did I
Before I knew my Savior
